Grading and Last Class before Summer!

Congratulations to Ivy and Nathan for reaching the rank of Yellow Belt! These two worked incredibly hard for their first color belt, with grading on our final class of the year, May 26, 2022 and we look forward to seeing what you’re capable of when we resume training in September!

Kata Tournament

Last Saturday, March 26, Vulcan Tekka Karate Club and High River Karate Club members met at the 187 Foothills Air Cadets Squadron Hanger at the High River Airport for a Kata Tournament. Karate students competed for Gold, Silver, and Bronze in four divisions. Congratulations to everyone who participated!

Nidan

Congratulations, Gillian, for achieving the rank of Nidan (2nd Degree) black belt!

Gillian has been a dedicated member of the club for the last 10 years and is always looking for ways to help others and make the club better. Since achieving her Shodan (1st Degree) black belt in 2015, she has continued training with the club and gaining experience in teaching new karate students and leading training classes when Robert is training with the Vulcan Tekka Karate Club.

Grading & holidays

Congratulations to our three new official yellow belts who successfully completed their first level grading on December 16th! Zack, Zack, and Trey, you guys did an awesome job – we could tell you’ve been working hard and training the house down. Well done!

shodan grading

A big CONGRATULATIONS to Travis for successfully completing his Shodan (First Degree Black Belt) testing at the Vulcan Tekka Karate Club on October 21, 2021.

Travis has been training with the High River and Vulcan Tekka Karate Clubs for the last 5 years, and has made amazing progress over this time.

Well done Travis, and we look forward to continuing to learn and train with you!

We’re baaaaack!

We are tentatively planning to start training again on Monday, September 13th at the Sheppard Family Park Munroe Barn in High River.

Class will begin at 7:00PM and run until 8:30PM for Adults

Class will be Monday and Thursday nights weekly

New and returning members are very welcome!

Monthly Fees will be $60 per person per month

Please remember:

  • Bring a mask to wear indoors while training
  • If you do not have GI please wear comfortable clothes / gym strip
  • Bring a water bottle
  • Please DO NOT come to class if you are feeling sick, or unwell, or have any of the following symptoms: fever, new or worsening cough, new or worsening shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, sore throat, runny nose, or loss of taste/smell.
