Updated Schedule for December 2018

The holiday season is almost here! There are several updates to share with you on the schedule for the rest of the 2018 year:

Due to Christmas Concerts scheduled at Spitzee School, training sessions for Thursday, December 6th and Thursday, December 13th 2018 will be held in Vulcan at the Prairieview Elementary School (305 6th Ave. South, Vulcan, AB) from 7:00PM to 8:30PM.

Please contact Sensei Robert if you would like to carpool from High River – he has been reaching out to parents by phone to let them know of the upcoming schedule changes and coordinate rides as-needed for those that are able to attend.

Christmas Wagon Ride

On Monday, December 10, 2018 we will be celebrating the season with what is becoming an annual tradition for the club – Senpai Serge will be bringing his team of horses and wagon into town to take students and their parents/family members on a Christmas Light tour around High River. There will be NO training at the school this day.

Remember to bring your warm winter clothing (hats, mitts, scarves, snowpants and winter jacket) and a hot drink if you’d like. We will be singing carols and admiring the many light displays set-up in town!

Our last training session for this calendar year will be on Thursday, December 20, 2018. We will re-start classes on Monday, January 7, 2019! Have a safe and happy New Year!

Christmas Light Wagon Ride & End-of-year Schedule

Courtesy of Sempai Serge, we will be celebrating the season with a wagon ride this Thursday, December 14, 2017 in lieu of class, to see all the beautiful Christmas lights and share some Christmas cheer before the final week of training this year!

Meet behind Flys Etc downtown High River at 7PM to hop on the wagon and enjoy the ride! Remember to dress for the weather – it can get chilly, even with the unseasonably warm temperatures of late.

We will meet for training as usual December 18 and 21st before we adjourn for the winter break.

Classes resume Monday, January 8, 2018 after the holidays – Have a Safe and Happy New Year!

We’re Back!

With only a few more days of summer vacation left, we’re gearing up for the Fall training session!

Our first training night of the 2017/2018 season is Monday, September 11, 2017 at the Spitzee School gymnasium in High River, from 7PM to 9PM.

If you’re new to the club, new to the sport, or just want to find out more, you can drop by and say hello at a regular training session, or contact Sensei Robert Robinson for more details.

Congratulations Alison!

Our final training session of the season on May 18, 2017 saw club members from both the High River and Vulcan Tekka clubs in attendance for a great end to the 2016/2017 season!

After a grueling 2 hour grading by senior Sankaku association black belts, Alison Niven earned her Shodan (First Level) Black Belt – a huge congratulations and job well done Alison, you definitely earned it!

Travis will be competing in the Karate Alberta tournament coming up the first weekend in June in Calgary – Good Luck Travis!

We are now off for the summer, and will resume training in September – more updates to follow later in August.

Have a great summer everyone!
